Our story began in 1969 with our Grandad, Les Mitchell, who built a reputation for thoughtful lending and genuine relationships across the Island. His legacy lives on through Evoke, founded by Zoe Hawley-Scott in 2014. Since then, we’ve lent over £150 million to local borrowers, moved into two offices, and continued to grow with the same belief: lending should be personal. Today, Zoe is joined by her brother Aaron continuing a family tradition of putting people first.

Evoke’s story is built on generations of trust, starting with Les Mitchell, whose dedication to lending and customer care shaped our values today. From 1969 to 1993, he rose to Regional Manager at Isle of Man Bank, always putting people first. His passion for building lasting relationships continues to inspire everything we do.
2017 – 2020
Foundations of Evoke - Zoe established Evoke with the aim to deliver personalised, accessible lending services. The company was founded to provide tailored financial solutions for both individuals and businesses throughout the Isle of Man.
A Milestone Moment - Evoke arranged its inaugural loan of £225,000, enabling a self-employed borrower to secure a purchase of their dream home. This transaction reinforced our mission to support ‘real people with real ambitions.
Growing the Team - With Evoke expanding, Aaron joined the team, adding fresh expertise to strengthen our tailored approach to lending. Our First Office We established our first permanent office at 8 Finch Road, creating a central location for client meetings and operations.
2022 – 2024
Incorporation of Evoke Loans - Evoke Loans became formally registered as a limited company, broadening our portfolio of bespoke lending solutions.
Relocation to Athol Street - As demand for our expertise grew, we relocated to 20 Athol Street, a space that reflected our evolving business and future ambitions. With this growth, Craig Drummond joined Evoke as a Business Consultant, bringing with him a wealth of experience from his career as a traditional banker. His insight and guidance adds a real depth to our team.
Director Recognition - Zoe was honored with the Isle of Man Institute of Directors Director of the Year Award, acknowledging Evoke’s contribution to the local financial sector.
10 Years of Success - Marking a decade of continuous growth. By this milestone, we had facilitated over £150 million in lending to Isle of Man borrowers, cementing our position as a trusted local financial partner.
